A GREAT PLACE TO VISIT!

 Alcalá de Henares is a town in the East of Madrid (Madrid is in the centre of Spain). It´s famous for its university and because Cervantes was born here. Alcalá has got a population of more than 200.000.

There´s a lot to see in Alcalá!!!

There are lot of delicious things to eat in Alcalá de Henares such as cocido, costrada, migas, rosquillas de Alcalá, bocadillo de calamares and of course jamón serrano and the Spanish omelet!!

Do you love shopping? There are lots of shopping centres here and the most important department store in Spain  called El Corte Inglés.

 

Transport

You can go to a lot of places in the city. You can go by bus, by car and by bike. There are plenty of trains. The train is the fastest but the bus is cheaper.

Do you want to see Cervantes´house? And Cervantes square?

This is the best place to do it!

On the 9^th of October you can visit the medieval market; you can also visit the botanic garden, the statue of Cervantes and one of the oldest theatres in Spain.
